PRESENTAZIONE

L’insegnamento consiste in un modulo teorico semestrale e in attività di lettorato di durata annuale equivalenti a 9 CFU. Il modulo teorico è di 30 ore e approfondisce gli argomenti morfo-sintattici previsti per la seconda annualità della lingua araba standard (AMS) usata nella comunicazione scritta e orale.

Il lettorato, tenuto da un esperto linguistico madrelingua, è di 100 ore e prevede esercitazioni mirate allo sviluppo delle abilità linguistiche produttive (scrittura e parlato) e ricettive (lettura e ascolto) e alla preparazione degli studenti alla prova di esame.

- Gli studenti di altri dipartimenti o quelli che scelgono “Lingua araba” come terza lingua, ossia da 6 CFU, non devono sostenere l’esame di modulo teorico, ma solamente gli esami scritti e orali del lettorato annuale (100 ore su due semestri).

- Il modulo teorico intende completare l'analisi del sistema morfo-sintattico della lingua araba standard affronata nella prima annualità. Si prefigge l’obbiettivo principale di approfondire lo studio del sistema verbale della lingua araba e di ulteriori elementi di sintassi del periodo.Le esercitazioni linguistiche mirano al consolidamento delle abilità linguistiche e all’acquisizione di un lessico ampio e vario da parte dello studente.

- Al termine dell'insegnamento (Teorico e Lettorato) lo studente avrà le competenze necessarie alla comprensione,  all’analisi, alla traduzione e alla riproduzione orale e scritta di testi di media lunghezza e di diverse tipologie;

- Lo studente conoscerà in modo approfondito il sistema verbale della lingua araba e delle sue forme derivate;

-  Conoscerà la fraseologia e un lessico di circa 500 parole relativi agli ambiti presi in considerazione;

- Svilupperà le abilità di ascolto, comprensione e produzione orale, nonché le competenze necessarie per relazionarsi e interagire in vari contesti comunicativi;

- Il livello di arabo da raggiungere al termine della seconda annualità oscilla tra A2.2 e B1.1 secondo il Quadro Comune Europeo di Riferimento per le Lingue.

PREREQUISITI

Per sostenere l'esame scritto e orale di Lingua araba II è necessario aver superato e registrato Lingua araba I (lettorato + modulo teorico).

L'esame scritto del lettorato di Lingua araba II è propedeutico all'accesso all'orale del modulo teorico.

PROGRAMMA/CONTENUTO

Gli argomenti del modulo teorico.

Morfologia e sintassi:

• Tempo, aspetto e modo del verbo;
• Il verbo hamzato;
• Il verbo geminato;
• Il verbo assimilato;
• Il verbo concavo;
• Il verbo difettivo;
• I nomi deverbali;
• I modi (congiuntivo, condizionale-iussivo, imperativo) del verbo;
• Le classi morfologiche del verbo;
• Le frasi relative, finali e ottative;
• Le proposizioni coordinate.

- Il programma dettagliato del lettorato sarà pubblicato all'inizio dell'anno accademico, ma in linea generale include:

• alcuni elementi sintattici: (Il dimostrativo, inna e sorelle, le sorelle di kāna, le frasi relative, il comparativo, gli aggettivi indefiniti, i cinque nomi);
• esercitazioni scritte e orali sui contenuti grammaticali trattati nel modulo teorico;
• lettura e traduzione di testi su temi diversi;
• esercizi di comprensione orale e dettati;
• esercizi di conversazione;
• attività specificamente dedicate all’acquisizione del lessico (attività di analisi, fissazione, rinforzo, recupero);
• esercizi di scrittura su temi di uso quotidiano come la famiglia, il lavoro, lo studio e gli interessi personali.

- Per gli studenti non frequentanti il docente metterà a disposizione su aulaweb il materiale bibliografico e gli appunti principali trattati nel corso delle lezioni. Gli argomenti affrontati dovranno essere approfonditi dai libri di testo indicati nella bibliografia: Sana Darghmouni, Kalima/Parola: lezioni di scrittura e grammatica araba con esercizi, Edumond Le Monnier, 2018; L. Veccia Vaglieri, Grammatica teorico-pratica della lingua araba - vol. 1, Istituto per l'Oriente C. A. Nallino, Roma 2011 (II edizione).

MODALITA' DIDATTICHE

Lezioni frontali, seminari ed esercitazioni pratiche di ascolto e di conversazione. Le lezioni del modulo teorico si svolgeranno nel primo semestre e le esercitazioni del lettorato sono annuali.

La frequenza delle lezioni non è obbligatoria ma fortemente consigliata in quanto rende più fruttuoso e veloce l’apprendimento.

Le lezioni del primo semestre si svolgeranno in modo presenziale a partire dalla prima settimana di ottobre secondo l'orario previsto dal calendario.

Le lezioni di MT Arabo II a.c. 2025/2026 si terranno al primo semestre a partire dal 01/10/2025, secondo il seguente orario:

• Mercoledì ore 17-19 Aula L del polo didattico;
• Venerdì ore 13-14 Aula F del polo didattico.

Le lezioni del lettorato di Lingua araba II a.c. 2025/2026 sono annuali e sono tenute dal Dott. Abdelhaleem Solaiman e dal Dott. Mahmoud Ibrahim a partire dal 30/09/2025, secondo il seguente orario:

- Martedì ore 08-11 Aula G del Polo Didattico (Lettorato: testi ed esercizi grammaticali) (Dott. Solaiman);

- Mercoledì 13-15 Aula 7 AdP  (Lettorato: ascolto, comprensione Orale, conversazione ed esercizi lessicali) (Dott. Ibrahim).

MODALITA' D'ESAME

- L'insegnamento prevede una prova in itinere che si terrà al termine del primo semestre, nella quale gli studenti dovranno dimostrare di aver appreso gli argomenti trattati nella parte di programma già svolta e di aver acquisito il lessico necessario all’espressione orale e scritta fornito dal docente del lettorato. All’esito della prova in itinere verrà attribuito un bonus massimo di 2 punti che sarà aggiunto al voto della prova scritta finale, a condizione che lo studente abbia ottenuto la sufficienza.

- L’esame finale di entrambi i moduli (lettorato e teorico) si terrà alla fine dell'anno accademico e consiste in una prova scritta e in una orale.

- La prova scritta include un testo di comprensione con domande e diversi esercizi grammaticali e di traduzione sui temi trattati nel lettorato. La prova orale prevede la lettura e la traduzione dei testi studiati nel lettorato nonché la discussione e l’analisi degli argomenti morfosintattici affrontati nel modulo teorico.

- Uno studente è ammesso all’esame orale se ha conseguito, nello scritto, un voto maggiore o uguale a 18/30. Il voto finale sarà costituito dalla somma del voto dello scritto (espresso in 10/30) e di quello dell’orale del modulo teorico (espresso in 20/30).

MODALITA' DI ACCERTAMENTO

I risultati di apprendimento acquisiti dallo studente sono verificati e accertati al termine dell'anno accademico mediante un esame scritto e uno orale che consentono di acquisire i crediti previsti. Tutti i contenuti trattati nell’ambito dell’insegnamento possono essere oggetto di valutazione. La prova scritta verifica attraverso una serie di quesiti che i risultati di apprendimento del lettorato siano stati acquisiti dagli studenti. La prova orale mira ad accertare la conoscenza degli argomenti morfo-sintattici affrontati nel modulo teorico nonché la padronanza delle varie abilità linguistiche..

OVERVIEW

The course consists of a theory module and a two-semester practical module (9 credits). The theory module lasts 30 hours and analyses the morpho-syntactic structures used in the written and oral communication and included in the Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) second-year syllabus. The practical module “lettorato”, held by a native language expert, lasts 100 hours and involves exercises aimed at developing language skills and preparing students for the exam.

- Students from other departments or those who choose Arabic as a third language (6 credits) are not required to take the theoretical module exam, but only the written and the oral ones for the practical part, “Lettorato” (100 hours).

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course intends to continue to give students a broad knowledge of the morpho-syntax of Standard Arabic as well as equip them with the essential skills for the comprehension, the analysis and the translation of a variety of texts. It also aims to enable students to produce own medium-length texts on a variety of topics and comment on them orally.

AIMS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

The course aims to deepen students' knowledge of the morpho-syntactic system of Standard Arabic acquired in the first year. The main learning objective is to address the study of the Arabic language verbal system and further elements of sentence structure. The course also aims to consolidate students' language skills and to enable them to develop a broad and varied vocabulary.

- At the end of this course, the student will have acquired the necessary skills for the analysis, the translation, the comprehension and for the oral/written presentation of medium-length texts of different types.

- The student will acquire a lexicon of about 500 words related to the areas covered.

- The level of Arabic expected at the end of the second year will be between A2.2 and B1.1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

PREREQUISITES

Students are allowed to take the second year exams only after passing all the exams from the previous year (Lettorato + Theory module).

SYLLABUS/CONTENT

Morphology and syntax:

• Tense, aspect and mood in Arabic;
• Verb with initial hamzah;
• Geminate verb root;
• Verb with weak initial و;
• Hollow root;
• Defective verb root;
• Verbal nouns;
• Verb modes (subjunctive, conditional-jussive, imperative);
• Verb derivation patterns;
• Relative and final clauses;
• Coordination (phrasal).

- A detailed syllabus of the practical module will be published at the beginning of the academic year, but generally includes:

• Some syntactic elements (The demonstrative, inna and her sisters, the sisters of kāna, relative clauses, comparatives, indefinite adjectives, the five nouns);
• Written and oral practice on the grammatical contents covered in the theory module;
• Reading and translation of texts on different topics;
• Listening comprehension and dictation exercises;
• Conversation practice;
• Vocabulary Activities;
• Writing tasks on everyday topics such as family, work, study and personal interests.

- The syllabus is the same for non-attending students. Bibliographical material and texts covered during the course will be available on Aulaweb.

TEACHING METHODS

Lectures, seminars, and listening and speaking exercises.

The theory module lessons will be held in the first semester and the practical part is annual. Attendance is not compulsory but highly recommended as it ensures a more fruitful and faster learning. The lessons of the first semester will start approximately at the beginning of October according to the university teaching timetable.

LESSONS START

MT Arabic II classes for the academic year 2025/2026 will be held in the first semester starting on October 1, 2025, according to the following schedule:

• Wednesday, 5:00–7:00 PM, Room L, Polo didattico;

• Friday, 1:00–2:00 PM, Room F, Polo didattico.

The Arabic Language II lectorate classes for the academic year 2025/2026 are annual and will be taught by Dr. Abdelhaleem Solaiman and Dr. Mahmoud Ibrahim starting on September 30, 2025, according to the following schedule:

• Tuesday, 8:00–11:00 AM, Room G, Polo didattico (Lectorate: texts and grammar exercises) – Dr. Solaiman;

• Wednesday, 1:00–3:00 PM, Room 7, Albergo dei Poveri (Lectorate: listening, oral comprehension, conversation, and vocabulary exercises) – Dr. Ibrahim.

EXAM DESCRIPTION

The course includes a mid-year test to be held at the end of the first semester, in which students must demonstrate that they have learned the topics and the vocabulary covered in class and are able to use them in their speaking and writing. Upon completion of this test, a bonus of up to 2 points will be awarded and added to the grade of the final written test.

The final exam will consist of:

A written examination which consists of a reading comprehension with questions as well as  grammar and translation exercises on the topics covered in the practical module.

In the oral exam students will be asked to read and translate the texts studied in the practical module and to discuss and analyse the morphosyntactic topics dealt with in the theory module.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Students’ learning outcomes will be assessed at the end of the academic year through a final written exam and a final oral one. All the course contents may be subject to evaluation. Both exams determine whether the expected learning outcomes have been achieved by the students, through a series of questions.

The written exam assesses the learning outcomes of the practical module whereas the oral exam aims to ascertain the knowledge of the morpho-syntactic topics addressed in the theoretical module, as well as the acquisition of language skills.
