The course aims at providing an advanced knowledge of some relevant issues in the field of the multilevel regulatory framework (European law and domestic law) that affects energy and the ecological transition. In particular, the course is focused on law, regulations and measures adopted for the promotion and development of sustainable energy. In this perspective, after a general analysis focused on the European energy policies, the course studies special regulations that govern the production, transport, distribution and sale of electricity and gas, focusing on the pro-competitive regulation of energy markets imposed at European level. Therefore, the course explores incentives and measures that stimulate the production of energy from renewable sources, in general and with particular reference to some sectors such as transport and sustainable mobility.

The course focuses on the impact of the energy factor in the economic system in a long-term perspective. In particular, we will look at the existing relationships between economic growth and energy consumption, the geoeconomic and geopolitical aspects of the energy market and energy supply, the change in energy paradigms in advanced economies, the challenges of the environmental issue. In this wider contest, specific attention will be paid to companies operating in the energy sector or obliged to take on the issue of energy as a crucial one. Students will therefore be urged to adopt both macroeconomic and microeconomic perspectives. The final aim is to present various methods of analysis and to employ different research and investigation tools, thus highlighting the interdisciplinary character of the subject.

The course aims to provide the tools for analyzing and interpreting the process of markets regulation, with a particular focus on energy markets. The main skills students will acquire are basic knowledge of analytical tools of regulatory economics and knowledge of the functioning of economic sectors in the presence of a network. The theoretical models will be complemented with the analysis of case studies. The course aims to promote general and specific skills in the design, application and evaluation of regulatory policies, for the creation of new professional profiles with advanced knowledge for the analysis of economic and institutional mechanisms associated to energy markets.

This course is an introduction to derivatives. Definition and structure of different kinds of derivatives are treated, including futures, forward, and options contracts. Valuation principles and mathematical models are analyzed and applied, including the Binomial and the Black-Scholes-Merton model. Finally, efficient use of derivatives instruments will be considered for purposes such as risk control, arbitrage and speculation.

The course focuses on the main strategic management tools for companies interested in the energy and ecological transition, as well as oriented towards sustainability. In particular, the course aims to achieve the following objectives: • Understand the social and environmental issues in place for change and applying business models that create shared value; • Analyze the main uncertainties that companies have to face in order to create sustainable scenarios for the development of new strategic options; • Have the sense of the factors that led companies to be successful in sustainability applied to the energy sector; • Examine the aspects that can make a sustainable business capable of solving major energy problems on a global level

The present program aims to investigate the role that financial system can play in addressing economic systems towards a higher degree of climate (and not only climate) sustainability. Using theoretical model, case studies and experts’ contribution it wants to develop the topics labeled as sustainable finance. More in details, moving from the normative framework developed by the “EU sustainable finance action plan” this program will deal with the methods and instruments and useful to guide capital flows towards sustainable investments ; the metrics and process necessary to integrate sustainability factors into risk management and finally the policy necessary to enhance sustainability transparency ( for example EU Taxonomy) and to redirect corporate governance towards stakeholder capitalism systems

108134 ENERGY TRANSITION AND POWER SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ING-IND/33 6 6 CFU AFFINI O INTEGRATIVE Attività Formative Affini o Integrative
The course is focused on the current energy transition from fossil fuels to renewable sources. The architecture of the national electric power system is described by analyzing the main characteristics of electricity production, transmission and distribution systems. The evolution from centralized to distributed generation is highlighted and the main features of energy generation and storage systems are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to polygeneration microgrids (equipped with renewable power plants, high performance cogeneration and trigeneration units, storage batteries, flexible loads, etc.) and energy communities, taking into account the most recent EU and national policies related to energy markets and incentive mechanisms. The main tools used to design and manage the aforesaid energy infrastructures are described together with the basic economic and environmental indicators for the evaluation of the profitability of investments in the sustainable energy sector. Moreover, the role of electric mobility within these new energy scenarios is described and deeply analyzed.

108176 ECONOMICS FOR ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL TRANSITION 12 The teaching course deals with the theoretical and empirical economic analysis of the processes and effects linked to innovation paths in the production of economic value and in the distribution of wealth associated with the transition towards environmental sustainability and green investments, both from the point of view of Public Economics and the Economics of productive sectors. The proposed topics concern the assumptions and effects of the energy transition on the economy and the in-depth examination of the characteristics and forms of the markets involved, the regulatory instruments implemented by the institutions and the economic effects that the transition will generate in terms of competition and available resources.

The Teaching focuses on the application of the economic approach to the analysis of the consumption, provision and allocation of natural resources and environmental policy. The management of natural resources poses a wide range of questions for economists, as environmental resources and assets are so pervasively involved in human economic activities. The allocation and intensity of economic activities, income generation and societal well-being, depend to an important extent on the availability and quality of natural resources for production, remediation and assimilation of waste, aesthetic and recreational benefits.

The module focuses on the assessment and discussion of the market organization and how it can vary thanks to the energy and ecological transitions. Main points of analysis will be linked to the elements that could impact the industry competitiveness and needed market investments. In order to achieve its aim, the module will include an analysis of main market trends and how they could impact on the main involved industries. Moreover, the module will present to students specific assessment techniques, applying them to case studies so to enhance students capability of performing market analyses. At the end of the module, the students will achieve a complete understanding of the economic effects of the energy and ecological transitions on a differentiated array of industrial sectors, mastering alternative assessment methods able to evaluate the impacts and the trends of such transitions.

108173 BUSINESS PLAN FOR ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL TRANSITION 12 The course aims to complete the preparation of master's students by presenting the main logic underlying economic-financial planning, financial communication, strategic business planning and, corporate governance issues with a view to sustainability. It will provide in-depth knowledge of documents other than the annual report, the main financial communication events dedicated at the capital market, and theoretical and practical tools for the formulation and assessment of the business plan.

This course aims at completing graduate students’ training by outlining the various tools used in corporate financial communication and in investor relations. In particular, it provides in-depth knowledge on business plan, and on documents different from the annual reports, as well as the main events of financial communication dedicated to the capital market. At the end of this course, students will: • Know the most important corporate financial communication tools and their content (e.g., industrial plan, restructuring plan); • Understand how the corporate investor relation functions convey financial information to the capital market (subjects, channels of communication, and topics); • Can critically analyze corporate financial communication, retrieving information available in different documents and interpreting data using an integrated approach.

The second, 108169, aims to integrate sustainability principles into both marketing theory and the practical decision-making process of marketing managers.

The course aims to provide cognitive and interpretative tools for organizational design and organizational change issues relating to the environmental transition, with particular attention to the energy sector. The objectives and the organizational design path are studied, the various steps in which it is divided into the perspective of identifying the most suitable structures for each organization in the different contexts in which the company operates are presented; organizational change is examined as a process to be implemented and managed, deepening its various steps, goals and difficulties . The course combines theoretical and practical study, through lectures and cases and testimonies.

The course aims to integrate sustainability principles into both marketing theory and the practical decision-making process of marketing managers. It will analyze how new marketing strategies are driven by the consumer's desire for sustainable products and how sustainability marketing can create benefits in companies where ecological and sustainability concerns are prioritized. Furthermore, the course provides tools and knowledge to develop, implement, and guide green marketing practices as drivers of growth and value creation in different companies; case studies will be presented and discussed.

The first module is Forecasting and environmental goods evaluation. The course aims at giving useful tools for decision making both for public and private organisations in the environmental field. The class mainly emphasizes the applied aspects of data analysis methods. The first part of the class focuses on the main techniques for the analysis of time series, such as moving averages, exponential smoothing and autoregressive models. The second part is devoted to methods for the evaluation of environmental goods, with a focus on experimental choice. The second module is Decision methods for systems and networks management. The course aims to explore tools to support systems, networks management, and project management. It focuses on strategic decisions related to network design with predefined connectivity, reliability, and sustainability levels. From the concept of the network to the system one. Queue theory tools will be used to perform system analysis and dimension evaluation thanks to Key performance indexes. Some scenarios analysis will be performed and methods to deal with uncertainty will be introduced. In the project management field, useful models will be studied to plan and control the project activities. Time-cost trade-off analysis will be realized.
