The theoretical background of each proposed methodology, with its field of application and its limits, is presented together with hands-on examples.

The teaching will provide basic knowledge about scantling criteria of sailing systems. Typical configurations are analyzed using applicable rules and by means of some advanced numerical methods. Some concepts of sail design, from a structural perspective, are presented along with a few hints about fluid structure interaction problems.

L'insegnamento ha l'obiettivo di mettere a sistema le esperienze maturate nei precedenti anni di studio tramite un progetto complesso. Per questa esperienza di ultimo anno viene affrontato e sviluppato il tema dell'imbarcazione oltre i 24 metri, classificata dalle norme CE come nave da diporto. Un'imbarcazione di taglia adeguata progettata secondo i requisiti più aggiornati in termini di ergonomia, impianti, materiali, sostenibilità.
